Markets
Christchurch is well known for its wide range of unusual and interesting markets which take place throughout the year.
A regular weekly market takes place every Monday in the traffic-free High Street and Saxon Square so why not make a day of it and have lunch in one of our excellent cafés and tea-rooms, pubs or restaurants and then spend a couple of hours exploring the town centre and visit our interesting shops?
From Easter to September, a number of visitng markets come to Saxon Square too and you can find details of these below or use the Search Box on the right hand side of this page to search for specific markets.
Christchurch is well-known for the Christchurch Food and Wine Festival which takes place from 6-13 May this year. The much-loved International Food Market is on the opening weekend - Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 May when over 60,000 people flock to the town centre to enjoy over a hundred stalls selling high quality local, regional and international food and produce, free demonstrations by celebrity chefs Lesley Waters, Nick Nairn and Peter Gordon and demonstrations from some of Christchurch's own top chefs.
