Business

Christchurch already enjoys a diverse and prosperous local economy but also has many opportunities for existing businesses to grow and for relocating businesses to move into the area.

Bournemouth International Airport is one of the key economic generators in the sub-region and is actually located in the Borough of Christchurch. It is amongst the busiest and fastest growing airports in the country, providing an increasing range of passenger, charter and freight links to European destinations.

An impressive number of high-quality companies have been attracted to the Airport, including FR Aviation, AIM Group,
European Aviation Air Charter, Allied Signal, Channel Express, Dolphin Packaging and Target Express.

The Airport also has substantial capacity to accommodate more businesses. Aviation Park is the largest employment site in Dorset and offers:

  • 200 acres (80 ha) of land.
  • Serviced sites available, leasehold or virtual freehold.
  • Buildings provided by joint venture or occupier own-build, leasehold or virtual freehold.
  • Opportunities for a wide range of aviation-related and other non-aviation businesses.

Business Support

In order to assist businesses, wherever they may be located in the Borough, Christchurch Borough Council continues to develop a number of support initiatives. These include:
