Good Result for Christchurch Tourism Information Centre
The CIC recently took part in the Enjoy England Official Partner Mystery Shopper Programme 2009 and did particularly well scoring 86%. The programme is carried out by assessors from VisitEngland's Visitor Attraction Quality Assurance Scheme and is conducted between mid May and the end of July. They assessed responses to: telephone enquiries; email enquiries and a visit to each TIC.
A summary of their findings showed: "This TIC was clearly signed....a well run centre....busy on the day of the visit, there were no actual queues....staff, polite and courteous, displayed a good level of local knowledge and were helpful, going out of their way to help visitors....there was a real attempt to sell the benefits of the area.... an excellent display of events taking place in the area in July.....email reply was received promptly by lunchtime on the same working day, offering the potential visitor the encouragement to proceed straightaway. The email was professional in all respects - well laid out, clear, easy to read and understand, and most importantly, provided specific answers to the questions raised. Web links provided were relevant to the enquiry......".
