Christchurch has an extensive range of guided walks and tours for you to enjoy and learn all about Christchurch's fascinating history. From guided tours around historic buildings such as the Priory Church, Red House Museum and Highcliffe Castle, a heritage Christchurch Harbour Boat cruise, ghost walks to trails and talks at our beautiful nature reserves - there's something to suit most ages and abilities.
The Christchurch Guided Tours and Trails free leaflet is available from the Christchurch Information Centre and details numerous guided walks, tours and trails around the borough to help you appreciate the rich heritage of this area. A key denotes suitability for wheelchair users, young children, families and dogs.
Local historian Michael Hodges, MA, FCIPD, MCMI organises day and evening tours and talks on numerous subjects of historical interest for groups, such as: Smuggling in Christchurch and Poole Bays; Anti-Tank Island and the Borough in World War 11; Local History; Local Ley Lines and the Ghosts of Christchurch.
Town Crier Keith Jackman is also available for guided walks for groups around the town centre.
Mudeford Ferry operates from Mudeford Quay across "The Run" to Mudeford Sandbank, the beach and beach huts.
Bournemouth Boating Services operates an enjoyable 40 minute cruise from Tuckton Bridge and Christchurch Quay across the spectacular Christchurch Harbour to Mudeford Sandbank and beach.
