Christchurch Christmas Festival & Switch-on

Saturday 6 December 2008
Santa and his elf will be arriving with his reindeer from Lapland at Peeks Partystore, Reid Street at 4pm and will travel along Bargates at 4.15pm to reach the High Street to turn on the Christmas lights outside the Mayor's Parlour at 4.30pm. He will then travel down the High Street and along Church Street to take up residence outside the Priory Church for 5.30pm so the children can feed the reindeer with moss and give Santa their Christmas lists.

Late Night Shopping until 7.30pm throughout the town centre on Friday 5 December, Saturday 6 December, Friday 12 December and Friday 19 December.

FREE car parking in town centre car parks from:

* 10am every day from 15-24 December

10am - 7pm - Live music, Morris Dancers, face painting, competitions and community events
with the Community Partnership in Saxon Square
2pm - Make a Christmas Tree decoration at Christchurch Library
1pm-4pm, - Refreshments, face painting, bouncy castle, children's activities in Bargates

From 1.30pm - Wessex Fire Service's two small fire engines and pole - climb the pole and have
your photo taken!
From 5.30pm - Chocolate Fountain and mulled wine in the North Porch, Christchurch Priory

6.15pm - FREE Family film in Bargates Baptist Church

Fri 5 - Sun7 - Winter Beer Festival at the Olde George Inn, Castle Street from from
6:00pm FRIDAY 5 to 4:00pm SUNDAY 7 with a great selection of local and award
-winning beers, hot mulled wine, Hog roast (Saturday afternoon and evening).
Traditional Irish music from Murphy's Lor from 8.30pm on Saturday night.
