The waters in and around Christchurch are renowned for providing some of the best all-round fishing in the country and have been a mecca for anglers for many years.

Whether your preference is for coarse, sea or game fishing, visiting anglers are well-catered for with day tickets available for most of the fishing in the area.

Some of the best river fishing in the country is available on famous fisheries such as the Royalty Fishery on the Hampshire Avon and the Throop Fishery on the Dorset Stour.

If you fancy a day on still waters there are plenty to choose from.  From large gravel pits and estate lakes to the commercial fisheries where you are sure to catch a net full.

Day ticket salmon and sea-trout fishing  is available on the Hampshire Avon and fly fishing is also available at well-stocked still-water fisheries nearby.  Sea fishing in Christchurch Harbour is particularly good for bass and mullet and if you prefer a day on the open sea, there are several licensed fishing boats operating from local ports including Mudeford.
