Beaches

Christchurch beaches extend from Highcliffe, right through to Mudeford Sandbank. Whether you are looking for relaxation and quiet, watersport activities or family fun; Christchurch will not disappoint.
Highcliffe Beaches adjoin the Woodlands of Steamer Point and provide great walking opportunities with views across to Avon Beach and Hengistbury Head.
Avon Beach is great for families, with a shop, cafe-restaurant, beach hut hire and a promenade which links to Mudeford Quay.
Mudeford Sandbank is an isolated beach, only accessible by foot and land-train via Hengistbury Head or ferry from Mudeford or Christchurch.
Friars Cliff beach is an award winning beach. It is predominently shingle, but with designated areas for watersports and bathing.
