THE only show in the South West running over a summer holiday weekend, Dorset County Show will be the place to be on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th September.

The show offers a fun-filled, action packed weekend for all ages. The whole family will love Big Pete and the Grim Reaper, two 18ft long, 7.5 tonne Monster Trucks which will be jumping over cars and crushing everything in their path in the Main Ring. Meet Titan the Robot, an 8ft humanoid who will be amusing visitors with his crazy antics as he dances and sings around the Showground. So human is he that he even burps and breaks wind! Gardening enthusiasts will marvel at the entries to the National Vegetable Society 's Championships being held at the show for the first time.

With over 450 trade stands there is plenty of shopping and don't miss the Dorset Food Hall selling the very best local food and drink with live cookery demonstrations. Kids can have a go at Zorbing the new extreme sport craze to sweep the UK. And of course, there are hundreds of wonderful animals to admire from the adorable sheep pigs to the enchanting miniature ponies, impressive cattle and cuddly rabbits. With entertainment all day in the Main Ring and Countryside Ring including show jumping, Festival of Hounds, Scurry Racing, Kangaroos Gymnastics Display Team and Jonathon Marshall flying his stunning falcons.

Accessibility

  • Parking Areas for Disabled Visitors - A stand for mobility scooters is located in the Disabled Parking Area. The cost for hiring a scooter is £10 a day, and they must be booked in advance by calling 01305 781122.
  • Toilets for Disabled Visitors - There are disabled toilets situated at two points on the Showground. One is by Gate 1 and the other by the entrance to the Show from the car parks.

Road Directions

The Show will be sign posted from the Dorchester Ring Road. If you are approaching Dorchester from Yeovil (A37), Wimborne (A35) or Wareham (A352) follow the yellow signs. The Dorchester Showground is approximately 1 mile from the town centre inside the Ring Road. Turn towards Dorchester Town Centre at the Kingston Maurward College roundabout and take the first right. The Showground is on the left.

Public Transport Directions

By Train

Dorchester has two railway stations (North and South) and the Showground is approximately 20 minutes walk from either, alternatively a bus service will be available from the stations on Show days

By Bus

A 'round robin' bus service will be available on Show days provided by First Buses. It will operate through Dorchester.
